Over the Bar

Five years ago no one had heard of COVID, there had not yet been a deadly shark attack on Cape Cod, and fish prices (to the fishermen anyway) were just as unpredictable and fluctuating as they are today.

Meanwhile, in January 2018, we first published this emagazine, using “Small Boats, Big Ideas” as our flag.

As we close out our fifth year, and in keeping with the Dickensian holiday idea of past, present, and future, we thought we’d dive into the archives and surface with a handful of articles that have been featured over the years. As we always offer four corners to the emag, we’re doing so again. They date back almost to the first issue, though not quite, and then string through the years.

It wasn’t an easy choice, so we went with the stories that were the most popular with our readers.

Here’s hoping the ones we landed on contribute to holiday cheer, ring a few bells, resonate into the present and offer some perspectives for the future.

From all of us here, to all of you there, best wishes for a happy New Year.
